College Application Workshops
When it’s “crunch time” for Seniors, we can help!
- Students can join a multi-week group workshop to learn and master the steps of applying to college and completing the Common App. Programs run periodically throughout the spring and summer. This service is included for students enrolled in our 1:1 College Comprehensive Advising services, and available in workshop format for any other student.
(all workshops are held in person at our Newton Offices)
Our curriculum includes:
- Timeline and list of deadlines to help students stay on track
- Instruction and tips on how to complete the Common Application (including the activities section)
- Guidance on drafting a standout college essay (the “personal statement”)
- Assistance on drafting responses to individual colleges’ supplemental questions
- Tips and strategies on rounding out a best-fit college list, requesting recommendations, and standardized testing
When your student enrolls in our workshops, they will
- Receive thorough support based on our proven curriculum, ensuring that they know what to do at every step of their application
- Stay on top of their to-do list by following our detailed timeline - so you don’t have to remind them
- Benefit from individualized attention as we intentionally cap workshop enrollment*
- Have fun learning and growing through the experience
*Seats are always limited at our workshops, so we encourage families to register early.
